I have a 1973 Nova with a 400 small block any tips to beef it up on a budget ?

400's waste of time without 6 inch connecting rods unless interested in idle 5,000 rpm power band, they're not high rpm reliable rotating assembly sort connecting rods. gives them hefty cam, induction , cylinder head appetites , explosive/peaky power bands.

whatever do, keep quadrajet. set correctly , pound .050 or .070 air bleeds existing .118 holes.
