Tips on swimming down 12ft and picking up a brick?


swim down 12 ft need form or better lungs. when jump in grab brick feet first entry palms on thighs , once feel start slow down stopped speed raise arms head trying lift water around surface. should reach bottom in number of seconds. brick not hard find , light while under water. bend on once on bottom , grab brick. pull chest , kick off bottom. whole process should take @ 10 seconds should have no problem breath holding.

i'm starting life guard training tonight, , know have swim down 12ft , pick brick? can give me tips on how this? also, easy task, , hard find brick is? i'm nervous!thanks (: suggestions appreciated!
