Who believes that theatre and performances should educate audiences about society and the government?

theatre should entertainment , have 'message' or @ least make audience think.
you're suggesting sounds more indoctrination.

i'm schools having touring theatre groups doing play bullying, domestic violence, drugs, crime or drink, , using part of lesson , getting kids think getting involved in such things.

if tried make adult theatres perform 'educational' stuff they'd closed in week!

what views on, theatre , performances should educate audiences; performance should enable audience come away more knowledge of world, demonstrating real life issues of today's world , not hide behind constraints of society , government around us.
