LASIK and insurance coverage?


last year went eye doctor , told legally blind (without corrective lenses) in left eye , have poor vision in right eye. considering getting lasik eye surgery , going see new eye doctor (i moved) in 2 weeks eye exam , consultation. under dad's health insurance , it's through job @ hospital. normally, have coverage. under plan. if considered legally blind (without corrective lenses), insurance able cover if not of procedure? know it's considered 'cosmetic' procedure fact i'm 'legally' blind make difference in coverage? also, how people insurance 'expected' per each eye?
