What are your thoughts on the newest version of the NHL's realignment proposal?

think guarantees expansion 2 teams, candidates seattle , kansas city or oklahoma city. i'm not sure nhlpa pass unless expansion guaranteed date though, because recall unfair playoff race part of vetoing last one.

honest though, think make playoff race even. west tougher conference play in right now, , it's not columbus taking playoff spot away anyone. wings aren't team used either, way see it, it's fair.

jets not problem child needs moved. dallas' current division opponent san jose similar distance jets , florida teams have. on top of that, california 2 time zones texas. winnipeg florida 1 hour. people consider jets' situation outstanding problem when has been business usual pacific division decade , half. solved.

people griping florida teams in new alignment, guess what: tampa far montreal (the furthest trip possible in situation) dallas current division mate los angeles (and far yotes have travel division mates in canada). not issue.

realignment put stars in division belong in, , alone cut huge travel expenses struggling team. on other hand, having big eastern teams in florida teams' barns give huge boost revenue. it's win-win.

also, never made sense have det or cbj in west, though cutting det-chi rivalry apart, adding det-toronto rivalry back, , detroit , columbus in eastern time zone, makes sense have them in east. wasn't pressing issue, still, it's solved.

people resistant change, alignment wasn't hashed out in 10 minutes last night hell of it, lot of work went solving actual problems.
