Need advice on painting my bathroom?

have tiny bathroom in 25 year year old condo building. i'm on limited budget. want tear out , redo bathroom can't @ least year. room tiny. ceiling fan vents , no way change that. moisture issue. ceiling has been painted kilz already. there several superficial cracks, can see nails went drywall. paint cracked around ceiling line next molding. lowe's advised me first sand cracks, fill in spackle , sand again. there alot of areas. advised using special paint designed bathrooms , kitchens has "semigloss" moisture resistant. advised painting walls semi gloss.the current paint flat , can see moisture has collected , dripped down walls. sounds me really. husband says take 2 men 6 hours "it right". i'm more concerned cosmetic "right" since plan replace br in year. have chosen color love fits "beach" theme ( block beach). says need paint end walls 1 color , lighten other walls increase size. end walls have shower on 1 , door on other. artist , love bold use of color. in br white , there literally 1 wall not covered shower or sink , toilet. painting tips repairing holes , stuff? i'm diy i'll take advise offered! thanks
