Driving Kerala State registered bike in Karnataka, India?

hi,
had purchased yamaha fz-s hometown of kollam, kerala state. currently, work in mangalore, karnataka bordering our kerala state. want bring bike here commuting, seems big predicament since i've been bombarded many doubts/suggestions.
1. when checked mangalore rto desk, informed might have pay around 18% tax of invoice amount, mounts on 14k. informed can opt tax refund in place , pay road tax here.
2. driving school agent through whom got dl done informed have noc kollam rto (busy fella gave inconclusive answer).
3. read few reviews on net stating can drive around year without problems , have re-registered here if stay gonna long one.
4. friend of mine asked me toll pass kasargod checkpost (kerala-mangalore border; valid month's time or so) , tell traffic cops when pull on i'm kasargod working & staying in mangalore @ present , going home every 15 days or so.

quite frankly not sure needs done. of immense if out there can suggest me needs done. have pay road tax once again here in karnataka? there way pay on yearly basis or once every 2 years?
