Is it worth it to travel alone?

i'm young (19 years old, turning 20) , planning trip hamburg after go amsterdam couple days, friends ditching me because, unlike me, don't have eurail pass, , said trip expensive. i'm still upset it, starting wonder if might worth travel solo hamburg, stay in hostel , whatnot, maybe 2/3 nights, maybe slip on over lübeck well. have seen 1 city alone, city knew. dont know how feel dining alone , whatnot, travel someone.
want know if it's worth it. feel i'm not young person who's ever done this, idea remains strange me, since hamburg such large city. kind of seems scary, though feel once there, feel normal.
advice or thoughts on this?
