Can I learn piano without learning to read music?

i've wanted able play piano, if i'd sit , play jazz , blues day long on piano or keyboard, remember in days of high school hated music lessons, musical theory anyway, never wanted learn how read notes or sheet music.
seems if want learn piano first i'd have learn how read sheet music, thought, there alternative? such numbering keys 1 (61-88) depending on keyboard (since more feasible) , converting keys played in song these numbers (sort of creating own sheet music without having learn any) have incredible memory not meaning brag, seems doable me, muscle memory come play too, in mind take long learning new song traditionally take (of course speed , confidence pick progress , practice).

real question...could work? learn new songs , play them method, i'm not looking create myself play of favourites on own.
