How many hours should be on a used boat for sale?

engine hours not or reliable factor determine condition of boat, or motor. boats (unlike cars) comparatively used little age, , depending on use, used less abuse. normally, marine engine run cooler, , not suffer near abuse of engine in car. 'general' exception here of course, powerboats associated speed.

keep in mind - can buy brand new "lemon". 5 year old boat 100 hours wasn't "lemon" day one? i've been on boats 3,000 hours run better new ones. . . i've been on boats 40 hours didn't run @ all. if concentrating on 'engine hours' concentrating on wrong thing. it's not same comparison miles on car.

more important, how engine maintained. engine hour meters unreliable - work, don't. work of time. in fact disconnected. but, don't shocked either find surprisingly low amount of hours - pleasure boats don't near use expect - after "new wears off". . . many in fact, have 90% of use in first boating season - set, hardly used @ all, thereafter.
