What is the theoretical yield of copper in grams?
volume = 9.5ml = 9.5 * 10^-3l
molar conc. = 0.15m
no. of moles = molar conc. * volume(in litre)
no. of moles= 0.15m * 9.5 * 10^-3 l = 1.425*10^-3 mole.
since 1mole of cu(no3)2 produces 1mole of cu.
therefore 1.425*10^-3 mole of cu(no3)2 produces 1.425*10^-3 mole of cu.
reacting mass = no. of moles * molar mass of cu.
= 1.425*10^-3 mole * 63.5gmole^-1 = 0.09g
therefore theoritical yield 0.09g
i need help, don't know start.... please me!
student begins 9.5 ml of 0.15 m cu(no3)2 solution , performs copper cycle lab. recovers 0.072 grams of copper metal.
