Why do some singers sing in a lower key live?


adele did following vocal hemorrhage in 2012; changed keys of songs "rolling in deep" , "don't remember". sang lower in chorus of "someone you". done because don't want risk screwing due notes being high , beyond vocal range. don't want disappoint or fans. hope helps. =)

i have noticed singers perform in lower key live. example: beyonce, lady gaga or rihanna it's half step normal. why do this?
