What do you call someone who studies Prehistoric animals and artifacts ?

there seems confusion amongst previous answers. studied these things in college. paleontology study of ancient animal remains , studied within geology or earth , planetary science departments of colleges. human physical remains (bones , tissue) studied in hominid paleontology or physical anthropology in anthropology department. study of human cultural remains (artifacts things humans created) archaeology. studied sub-discipline of anthropology (which means "study of man").

way, living animals "prehistoric" meaning evolved long before human beings started recording history (which has been 6,000 years since humans used written language). prehistoric means "before recorded history". perhaps mean there still may animals alive believe today extinct. though may true, unfortunate reality human destruction of environment , climate change lead extinction before discover them.

paleontology fascinating field of study. friend of mine paleontologist in leading natural history museum. if want taste of field work like, can participate in paleo "digs" in field through earthwatch. have pay participate have scholarships high school students. http://www.earthwatch.org

i think want career in studying prehistoric animals , artifacts . im intrigued animals , prehistoric animals . there still prehistoric animals alive somewhere dont know . wanna take class in college dont know name of course . helpppppp !!!!
