Drawing help, Is it better to start drawing off drawing cartoons or realism? Realism vs. Cartoons?

wouldn't equate cartoons = easy , realism = hard per se. i've worked amazing artists can paint looks real totally fail @ drawing cartoons , have seen amazing cartoonists attempt draw realistic looks awfully cartoony. depends on artist , style or styles comfortable with. said cartoons @ core simplified , stylized versions of reality.

if interest pursuing drawing cartoon art career suggest focus on fundamentals (life drawing, perspective, etc.) first. example, if interested in becoming traditional 2d animator animation course have focus lot on life drawing, anatomy , learning motion.on other hand if you're interested in realism there's no real point in learning how draw cartoons, unless required art in style work.
