Should I transfer universities?

cross country runner @ d2 school in philly. school has opportunity. excelling in major , classes easy me. gpa 3.87 , involved in 2 clubs well. work study student , assistant researcher. have made 1 friend @ school , plenty other class friends. unhappy. don't philly @ , find self spiraling depression. have been independent not adjustment hurting me. although 1.5 hours home, miss family. incredibly close because dad passed when child , family people closest to. hate running scene in philly because place run gym or schuykill , gets old fast. west philly dangerous , hard around because trolley systems suck. don't ever runners high here because there no sense of nature here dirty schuykill. (even nyc has central park) dread waking every morning , question why here multiple times day. school looking transferring school close enough home can commute or live on campus. lot closer nyc, city hope live in day. has variation of major in can pursue same career goals allow me take on language minor. cheaper me go there because can state aid well. mom not want me transfer because of opportunity here know there lot of opportunity @ school thinking transferring to. real draw may not able run cross country there because d1 school , not fast. however, can inquire being walk on or join local road runners club. confused , need opinion not swayed.
