Is a bad gcse better than having none?

yes loads better!
when going college or uni gcses tallyed points.

need obtain amount of points schools or onto courses.
if didn't take gcse points zero!
if if low pass; d,e,f (these tech pass!) gain crucial points!

it's important have low pass esp if need gcse equivalent course in college.. these courses based in 3 levels, foundation, intermediate, advanced.
foundation & intermediate both 1yr each, advanced 2yrs. , u can't move onto next level without completing previous.
gcses if gain low passes placed onto intermediate, or can possibly talk way onto advanced course. spending 2-3yrs in college.

if flunked or didn't take gcses placed onto foundation , spend min of 4yrs in uni making it.

i'd got d or , f or subject @ gcse, better or worse if ended having no gcse @ all? (due missing exam example)
