What are these areas of San Diego like? Hillcrest, University Heights, North Park, Kensington?

oh honey. san diego's "inner city" areas - total culture shock 26 yr old midwesterner. take other adults you.

hillcrest san diego's major gay community. lots of clubs, restaurants, nightlife...and gay people everywhere. make midwesterner verrrrry uncomfortable.

north park right next hillcrest, it's same. 7 years ago total ghetto. addicts, dealers, transgendered hookers, name it. slum...i used live there. gay community has pretty taken on , have totally revamped it. restored buildings, built new housing, established bunch of new businesses....it's kind of happenin' place now. wish had been way while lived there! still culture shock midwesterner.

normal heights, kensington & uni heights right same area too. they're kind of slummy not bad. if inner city part of san diego plan visit, it's going leave pretty bad taste in mouth. need out farther west toward old town & beaches.

wherever go, sure take people you. west coast can eat wide eyed midwesterner herself.
oh yes, , soda soda here, not pop.....we don't have chiggers, we're not overtly religious & we're near polite here y'all east. ;)
have "surrogate family" kansas come out visit sometimes, know how out of place & confused be. lol helps if know here can show around & keep safe.

also city heights? & like?
mean in terms of crime? 26 yr old female small midwest city, want safe.
