In what order should I play the Halo games?

if want play in chronological order, it'd be:

halo wars (i think happens 20 years before reach..?)
halo: reach
halo: combat evolved
halo 2
halo 3: odst
halo 3
halo 4

think best way go it, since end of reach followed ce, , start of odst overlaps during halo 2. , halo 4 picks right **** starts happening after halo 3. yea, might make more sense way, instead of playing in order in released.

edit: think halo wars pretty rts. not best, find worth playthrough, @ least. cutscenes pretty , reason enough play.

also, if want immersed in story , understand it, you'll have know of backstory, isn't told in games. seems that's reason people favor reach on halo 1-3 story, because, while have better stand-alone story, it's not rich. forerunner saga books give insight backstory. or on halo wiki.
