How do you work out the percentage of a number?

divide £240 100 find our 1%.

multiply whatever number whatever percentage wish find out. doesn't matter percentage has decimal place in or not, formula same.

example:

£240 / 100 = £2.40 (that 1%).
£2.40 x 6.3 = £15.12 (that 6.3%).

if wanted find out 14.5% of £180, do:

£180 / 100 = £1.80
£1.80 x 14.5 = £26.10
