Why is my employer not understanding why I want more hours?

have worked @ same school twenty 2 years. full time until son 2 eleven years ago. did 3 days. had breakdown 2 years later had been diagnosed type 1 diabetes. our first child still born 6 years before , had kept going until point.
allowed return doing 2 days have been asking hours 3 days time. husband has had health issues have not meant has been off work have led him losing job through inappropriate behaviour. present job has been year , half. head teacher keeps asking me if husband full time when ask hours. reason have been able cope financially through these troubles because both our dad's died 7 years ago , left bit of money. has run out , therefore having financial problems. try explain boss feel not listening. need have secure future cannot sure husband maintain job in light of past events. think headteacher being misinformed situation head of department , not looking me in eye when try explain why need bit of work.
husband has said unprofessional him ask if husband full time.
add ups hours of of other colleagues , ignores request despite years of asking. other senior teachers timetable rubbish , should not @ job.
