What is the difference between 'venomous' and 'poisonous' ?

specialized apparatus of kind
(usually fangs or stinger). venom
produced in gland attached
apparatus. venomous insects occur in 3 groups: true bugs (order hemiptera), butterflies , moths (order lepidoptera), , ants, bees, , wasps (order hymenoptera). spiders, centipedes, , scorpions may
venomous. venomous arthropods may
inject venom prey
immobilize it, or use defensively
against potential predators - people! poisonous organisms, on other hand,
not deliver toxins directly.
entire body, or large parts of it, may
contain poisonous substance. these
organisms may harmful when eaten or
touched. poisonous insects include members of quite few groups:
butterflies , moths (order lepidoptera) , true bugs (order hemiptera), beetles (order coleoptera), , grasshoppers (order orthoptera), , possibly others. defensive chemicals produced
these poisonous insects may cause
vomiting or blistering, or have cardiac
impacts on predators try eat or
handle them.
