when check german websites there 1 person mentioned name alive today in town of waechtersbach/hessen (north-east of frankfurt).
first part of name "mehl" means "flour", have grain mills/miller.
last part "brech" seems come german verb "brechen", meaning "to brake something", twisted old expression miller or working in mill (maybe making millstones ???)
after called "german revolution" in 1848 there ahuge immigration wave germans us, midwest , great lakes area. called '48 ers"
