What happens when a cut gets infected?

check cut or wound see if skin warm or hot touch. determine if cut or wound causing pain.

redness or red streaks around injury, swelling or discharge of thick yellow, green or grey-white pus wound or cut. indicates presence infection fighting white blood cells.

wash wound daily plain running water. don't use hydrogen peroxide, iodine or antiseptic without consulting doctor because these chemicals can irritate wound.

apply disinfectant or triple-antibiotic wound twice day.

cover wound non-stick sterile gauze , adhesive tape protect rubbing against clothes or if might dirty.

check wound daily prevent systemic infection.

see doctor if localized infection has not healed in 3 4 days.

note: if cut or wound more minor scrape or person has compromised immune system, call doctor begin proactive treatment prevent onset of infection.
never pour rubbing alcohol on open wound or cut.

i got cut on leg , @ least 8th of inch deep if not more. i'm not feeling wondering happens if gets infected
