Can I continue to claim jobseekers allowance until I receive my wages from my job?

signed on today (joy) in mean time until start @ local council. worked them temporarily trying out new role, contract ended , they're trying me interview , same role again on permanent basis time.

however, told years ago advisor @ jobcentre when signed off have continued sign on , claim until received wages (as paid monthly). know if still applies? paid monthly when i'm employment. i've been trying around on internet, not got concrete answers.
