yes, there external graphics adapter called vidock, can improve gaming performance.... allows connect regular desktop graphics cards along external monitor. however, it's usable if laptop has expresscard slot.

considering entry-level desktop cards radeon hd 6670/geforce gt 640 better integrated laptop graphics, can provide huge boost. of course play games dayz you'd want more powerful card radeon hd 7770 or geforce gtx 650 ti.

it's not cheap. you've got cost of vidock itself, plus cost of graphics card, , cost of monitor, unless have 1 (external graphics adapters work regular monitor, not laptop's built-in screen.

it's cheaper , easier buy laptop better graphics card.

keep in mind midrange cards radeon hd 7770 , geforce gtx 650 ti require vidock 4. vidock 3 (least expensive model) can handle cards don't require external power, radeon hd 7750/6670/6570 , geforce gt 640/gt 630.
