Why do i have to get to the airport earlier for an international flight?

not have to. suggested, , if first time suggested.

flew china last summer. had plenty of time @ our airport of initial departure, though not huge airport in la or nyc, etc. had checked in online, arrived , printed our boarding passes @ kiosk , checked our luggage (that took of 15 minutes, of conversation agent our trip). going through security did not take long, either- few minutes 3 of us. waited on other side of security well. our passports checked boarded.

when arrived in detroit, had less hour between flights. flight departed international destination. managed other terminal, find our gate, food , still waited in line board (and long line). sure had large airport been 1 departed from, have taken longer check our bags , go through security (but did not have @ airport).

while not necessary, better late.
