actually, not "real" in useful sense of word. evolution has never had physical existence; construct in human minds. safe bet no other animal on earth ever thought evolution. humans @ recognizing abstract patterns - rightly or wrongly - , use talent forming theories. evolution, big bang, celestial motion, benevolent , evil spirits, modulation sidebands on radio carrier waves, wave nature of electrons, particle nature of electrons... form lots of theories. won't stop until stop thinking.

leave each person decide believe - accept "real" in broad sense. equally intelligent people convinced god real or god not real or god poorly defined argue about; evolution true or not true; man-caused climate change happening or not; our concept of past true or silly idea have; thinking or hopelessly lost in delusion. sure don't know.
