What is the correct way to blend in charcoal pencils?

it's called "stump," , tightly rolled, pointed paper smudger artists use.

friend can experiment q-tips , rubbing alcohol, makes charcoal type of watercolor, , can produce interesting effects in shading.

other people use fingertips, kneadable erasers "draw in reverse," etc. etc...

there no "correct" way. artist create visual he/she imagines.

my friend draws , experimenting charcoal pencils , doesn't or doesn't know how blend .when uses other pencils don't know called uses toilet paper blend doesn't charcoal use?
