Should I take up singing lessons if I'm bad?

take guitar lessons, , have lots of fun, cringe whenever music teacher suggests singing along learned on guitar. i'm not dreadfull, have little vocal range. have hard time singing low, if sound man. when sing high notes sounds forced , voice cracks. singing teacher happy teach become less bad?
