2000 chevy malibu, a/c heater goes out frequently while driving and vehicle overheating what do i do?

why did flush cooling system begin with? same reason? thermostat stuck or if changed thermostat, may have put in backwards. when installing thermostat make sure copper button goes in towards engine. when filling cooling system make sure bleed air out of system. have included link showing how compliments of auto zone. gm use dex coolant (the orange stuff) since lasts long time. that's you. hope helps.
