How much salary do an employer to pay if he terminate an employee.?

depends on whether fired cause, employment agreement, state in live, size of company, , several other factors. states have "at will" employment, means employer can legally let go @ time no severance.

if you're *not* being fired cause , you're not low-level employee, companies give severance package, in exchange participating in exit interview , possibly signing non-disclosure or non-compete agreements. letting people go bad morale , reputation treating employees callously can impair ability hire talent in future, companies have strong incentives go beyond legal requirements. farther move on scale of professionalism, more these considerations important success of enterprise. experience professionals have options when looking job , stay away places may treat them badly if things don't go well.

if work @ mall, unlikely severance of kind, it's uncommon see "professional" positions don't offer kind of severance. (even if employee have been fired cause, many companies still give severance , other termination benefits salaried professionals.)

finally, there federal law here. if @ large company part of large layoff or plant closing, employer must give 60 days notice prior layoff. if don't, have pay laid off 60 days time of notice. supersedes state , local law.

i mean ask if employer terminates employee how salary, 40 days, 2 months or 3 months, paid employee through employer.?
