Im 16 and i want to become a train driver, please help?


cannot become train driver in uk until age of 25. also, not need have formal qualifications. have - having had initial written job application accepted train operating company - pass stringent day-long assessment examine lot more technical knowledge , physical fitness. examination checks psychological make-up, tests ability accurately carry out boring tasks long periods, physical co-ordination, , else. there little can practise or revise.

toc's vary in employment policy drivers: prefer recruit existing staff, , 'came up' way on toc worked ex-conductors, station staff, revenue protection staff , technical maintenance staff. other toc's prefer recruit 'off street', believing such recruits less-likely have ingrained bad 'railway' habits. such recruits tended come occupations , professions involved responsibility , demonstrated ability work on ones' own, such armed forces, police, prison service, self-employed. company worked in between 2 extremes: forty when joined railway trainee driver, having spent twenty years self-employed freelance illustrator , designer. other new drivers took on included such diverse previous occupations bank manager, airline pilot, casino croupier, , self-employed lift technician!

i have level 2 in engineering diploma, doin mechanics level 2 extended diploma in college, want train driver, how move on career path? please help, part time jobs ofcourse not train driver related it.
