Can a wifi router be hack?

there 3 types of wireless security commonly in use, wep. wpa , wpa2.

easy find wep cracker on internet, you'll find many open systems find still using wep.

can hack wep or wired equivalent privacy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/wired_equiv... old dating 1999 , has serious security flaws. wep can cracked in minutes modern hardware , provides minimal security.

wireless security such wpa or wpa2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/wireless_se... complex passwords difficult hack. https://www.grc.com/passwords.htm. cracking programs use brute-force , dictionary attacks. more random , number of characters in password, more unlikely such attack succeed. there no simple program give password. if there security offered system rendered moot.

in case illegal connect secured system without permission , may prosecuted.
