Do teachers (high school) and professors get paid differently based on the subject they teach?


@ high school level, no. @ college level, yes. here's chart of average faculty salaries field.

basically, if make far, far more working in field teaching degree have (accounting, engineering, law, medicine, business), you'll paid more. if can make more in field teaching (physics, math, related subject) you'll paid bit more. if can't other job degree (most humanities , arts) you'll make least. professors don't paid more teaching higher level classes, new professors have teach lower levels first, , paid less until they've gone in ranks.

for example, math professor paid more art history professor? lower division math professor paid more 1 teaches upper level calculus? seems reasonable might it's unfair, know! :)
