How do I set up a password for my ASUS router?

wireless connections require security configuration prevent wifi in range of router connecting network. malicious deeds, such hack network, or leech off of internet bandwidth.

there unscrupulous hackers open wifi networks can exploit. may hack files or use internet connection illegal activities.

router configuration::

download manual if don't have one. you'll have internet search specific model , include terms "manual" or "setup" in search.

connect pc or laptop via ethernet 1 of router's lan ports , follow instructions in manual set up.

if have open system, still configured asus factory defaults. asus default ip http://192.168.1.1 , username "admin" , password "admin".

if default has been changed , don't know login password you'll have reset router factory default state. instructions in manual.

if router reset factory default, erasing user modified settings revert default passwords. sure change password of administrative interface of router factory default security.

wireless setup not difficult, follow instructions in router manual or wizard set program. if you're having problems either pay set or find knowledgeable friend configure it. once wireless network settings configured it's trouble-free system.
