Is it safe to fire a blank gun at someone's chest from about 2-3 feet away?

i'm going directing short film, , climactic moment when 1 character shoots other. i've got prop blank gun use it. now, i'm not stupid -- know blank guns instruments of death of hold them head , pull trigger. want know if can shoot climactic moment side angle, such both actors in shot. needs pretty close, 2 or 3 feet, maybe 5 tops.

safe? safety paramount. don't particularly want shoot gunshot moments shooter in frame, make work way (have shoot @ nothing while camera fixed on her, , go shot of 2 of them him bloodied, , falling over).

feel little silly asking of internet strangers, don't know guns , there's no gun shops/experts in town.

if matters, gun pretty ordinary pistol. glock 9mm.
