Parakeet or cockatiel?

hi,
own both of them , have lean toward cockatiel. both excellent beginner birds , easy care (the cockatiel requiring more responsibility), find cockatiels more interactive, affectionate, bonds deeper owner, , has more calm , gentle personality, people looking in bird. quick introduction on budgies. cheaper cockatiels, smaller, , overall more colorful. can affectionate if tame find them harder tame , not forgiving cockatiels are. moody, not cockatiels. overall not messy cockatiels , less demanding. being bigger bird , part of parrot family, guess thats out of 'tiel.

cockatiels medium sized birds (around 10-12 inches) live around 15-20 years. have great gentle, calm, even, , forgiving personality. find them more interactive , social budgies. tame birds, love perch on finger or shoulder or head, or sing, or play , spend time human flocks. , being bigger birds (which don't know why many people want), cockatiels bit more eye catching, cool , adorable appearance of bright cheek patches , "mohawk" on top of heads. cockatiels have many mutations (or colors) have been bred. of them lutino, normal grey (original), pearl, cinnamon, whiteface, pied, silver, fallow, emerald, pastel, platinum, olive , albino, can search , see:
http://www.cockatiel.org/mutations/index...

cockatiels bit more expensive budgies (budgies being around $20). bird, cockatiels can range anywhere $50-$175 depending on location, tameness (i suggest getting hand reared one), mutation, etc. cage, supplies, toys, food, etc., first time, cost $200 or so. monthly pay cockatiel around $15.

cockatiels pretty easy train (especially males) , can learn many tricks, talking, whistling songs , all. cockatiels louder budgies (still considered quiet though , great apartments), reported not "constant" budgie's calls. however, sometimes, can bit shrill or loud, , should prepared for. have budgies more quiet cockatiels aren't "loud" either. , budgies quite constant squawking. also, cockatiels don't nip or bite, when threatened or scared or mad, bite , may cause bleeding or ripping open bit of skin, , hurts never serious.

cockatiels should given attention possible social. budgies require bit less attention still around same. cockatiels should given attention of @ least around 4 hours day, , around 2-3 hours of supervised outside playtime. , think before keeping 2 two can keep each other company, twice work, , makes them distant you. also, males , females quite different, choose carefully:

male cockatiels attention. colors more bright , bold (e.g. comparison: http://members.optusnet.com.au/~petcocka... , more active, energetic , playful. males more willing learn , males learn talk, whistle , sing, males louder compared females. shrieks can bit shrill sometimes. males have more courageous , bold personality too. not cuddly still social , still love attention, , can quite affectionate.

females' colors aren't colorful , bright , males (if don't mind, thats fine). bit more laid males , not active or bold. females have lesser percent chance of learning talk or sing, quieter males , barely ever make sound. females may have egg laying problems later on (may), pretty serious , need taken care of. females though, more cuddly , snuggly male cockatiels , same affectionate.

both great birds , pretty hard choose. luck on choice though , on new bird! :)

if own or have owned either or both 1 quietest?
