What do i need to do to clone my hard drive?
cannot clone windows partition booting mac os x, unless enable writing ntfs, , that's 788 word answer in itself, ask in q, , answer q... or sneak peek @ link below. cannot use windows software create boot camp partition (macs cannot boot mbr partition scheme drive). not need cloning software. disk utility can it.
here how "clone" os x side....
-- connect ext. drive (uh, did buy case, didn't you?).
-- open disk utility.
-- select ext. drive.
-- select "partition" tab.
-- click "options" button, select guid, ok.
-- click "current" drop list partition scheme, , choose "1 partition".
-- set format "mac os extended (journaled)", click "apply".
when done...
-- select "restore" tab.
-- drag internal os x drive icon "source", drag ext. "destination", , click "restore".
takes bit longer :-)
after that, shut down, switch drives.
-- boot up, , activate ntfs write os x (link below).
-- use boot camp assistant make windows partition, don't install windows.
-- connect ext. drive (the original), , restore thing using 2 windows partitions source , destination... , time, ext. goes "source".
alright got new hard drive , want replace old 1 in macbook 4,1 how move of files on , windows partition without erasing everything
