Why do people brag about their success?

there's guy know cool person if there's annoying him how brags 'success' , how different else... when he's doing little or nothing @ all. anytime ask him he's been doing, he's talking himself , over-using little "i."

don't mean brag myself , i've still got long way go can while of achievements , unique (like getting short listed jobs despite being bit academically under-qualified them , getting welcomed study medicine 2 diff' unis), shut , because can... think it's meaningless philosophically why don't bragging. never compared myself or used success way seem attractive people either. same super successful friends well. they've probs been on high horse , they've never ever boasted it.

it's nice see people determined , have work when start see competition , refuse take criticisms n of like, it's annoying. like, "can talk halo 4 or instead now?"
