Setting up two computer monitors?


hi, set 2 monitors had problems second screen shows ~50mm (2") pale green & pale red horizontal bands top bottom. using ati cataylist control centre configure screens can't find cause. both monitors ok, can 'stretch' & 'clone' 2 without problems see coloured bands on screen 2 in 'extended' mode. can't supply image because 'print screen' shows 'extended' mode being normal! suggestions? issue has not been resolved. in advance.
equipment maker: monitor 1 'philips 190cw'. - monitor 2 - acer x191w. video card - radeon 9200 series.
operating system: windows xp pro 5.01.2600
connection types: 1 standard cable per monitor.
settings video: 1440 x 900 pixels @ 60hz (32-bit)
software running: ati catalyst control center
happened before event? nothing single monitor working fine; needed add monitor.
