Do DVDs have just as good of quality as Blu Rays as long as you use an HDMI cable?

i've noticed quite difference in quality hdmi cable. esspecially newer movies.

i've noticed it'll make older movies grainier. don't see how can make older pre-hd movie better blu ray. i've seen alot of old crappy movies on blu ray. feeling they're slopped out , dvd's different packaging , more sturdy disc.

guess hdmi cable makes difference blu ray player too?

don't see how you're suppose watch movie shot on 4:3 full screen using hdmi cable though. mine give settings that'll stretch picture out. aren't there shows still shot in ratio?

i've heard watching regular 'ole dvds using hdmi cable upscale dvd hd giving same quality blu ray. true?
