Going to community college..can it boost my chances of getting accepted into a university?
hello mercedez,
thank interest in savannah college of art , design! have large transfer student population coming schools on country. many students choose attend local community college take general education and/or foundations classes transfer scad. can save on tuition costs boost gpa if bit low in high school. admission scad based on academics - give admission preference students gpa of 3.0 or above , scores @ national average or above, 1000 sat (combined math , critical reading) or composite score of 21 act. encourage students apply, however. if feel academics little weak, there several supplemental items can submit strengthen overall file, resume, letters of recommendation , statement of purpose.
portfolio not required undergraduate (freshman or transfer) admission encouraged submit 1 considered achievement scholarship. it not need related intended major , must fall 1 of these categories: visual arts, writing, performing arts audition or riding. go www.scad.edu/portfolio more information.
can learn financial aid , scholarships @ www.scad.edu/finaid. if have additional questions, feel free chat live admission representative @ www.scad.edu/livechat or email admission@scad.edu. best of luck you!
