Why is our United States food serving size so much more than everyone else's?

remember when mcdonald's, burger king , many other junk food companies first arrived in mexico, serving sizes small compared u.s counterparts, reason because people not used huge servings companies had tone them down considerably. people have gotten used , servings sizes keep getting bigger , bigger each year.
