Should I try feeding my Leopard Gecko dead crickets?


have young leopard gecko (i bought him small little baby in late november) , has grown lot , 6.5 inches long. anyway, far have fed him mealworms. dust calcium on them , everything, getting nutrition. feed him 5 day. tried giving him live crickets guy @ store insisted size , waaayyyyy big him. ate couple of smaller ones, of them massive crickets. way huge. anyway, feel bad i'm not varying diet enough. should try feeding him dead crickets, ones sell @ petco? can leave them in dish in tank , see if eats them. can try feeding him fruit? thanks
