What benefits can i get if walk out my job with a young child?

work p/t, , child , working tax credit , housing , council tax benefit.
question is, in few month moving north, if walk out of job can reclaim benefit, of course walking out moving on 2 hours away. ive been told have wait 6-8 weeks, surely cannot expect me go amount of time without money , 3 year old.
