can use photo or yahoo! cartoon avatar, , if have facebook or twitter account, can use avatars.

go to: http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/priv... - make sure profile isn't hidden, because if is, avatar won't show.

if want cartoon avatar, go here create one: http://avatars.yahoo.com/ - click on "yahoo!" under "export avatar".

in case want use facebook or twitter avatar, need link accounts in profile options.

have several options in case want photo avatar:
a) go yahoo! answers settings @ http://answers.yahoo.com/my-activity/edit/about , click "update photo or avatar",
b) go yahoo! profile @ http://profile.yahoo.com/ , click on current avatar.
upload picture or choose 1 of pics you've uploaded previously.

note: if on mobile, need switch desktop mode first in order work.
