Which will cost more to insure? 00-04 mustang base or 00-04 mustang gt?


i'm 17 , live in new york. been driving clean record 1 year , pay $100/month on mom's '10 camry. want own car , have narrowed down mustang, can't decide between base model or gt. have discounts on current policy such student , drivers ed. take defensive driving course added discount , new car bring multi-car policy discount helpful. mom contributing same $100 towards car , rest have pay myself.

have heard base , gt cost same insure, doesn't seem right considering gt has 100+hp more base, people have supported saying base models involved in more crashes among young drivers. can set record straight me? please don't give me responses saying insurance agent can tell me or "too high afford." wise decision drop collision coverage huge insurance discount? don't plan on racing car.
