Can the compression of air be used to make thrust?
strictly speaking answer no! expansion of air (and other gases) used provide jet propulsion. compression needed before expansion can achieved. air in balloon of toy car compressed and, in escaping, expands through nozzle reach high exit speed , thereby thrust. turbine section of jet engine preceded compressor section. once air compressed, heat added burning fuel , hot gasses expand , accelerate out of engine. high exit momentum due expansion provides thrust. compression provides no thrust.
and if not why? can used for?
specific compression of air talking used in jetplanes except on smaller scale put on toy car
