2006 Honda Civic gets terrible gas mileage!!?? Advise?


bought 2006 civic lx, 4 door acura dealership after totaled scion tc. has 40k miles on it, automatic spotless car fax , service record (other periodic maintenance). when picked car there 1/2 of gas in it. after driving until gas light came on, got 75 miles out of seemed bad me. few days later engine light came on took in , ended having thermostat replaced. 3 full tanks later im getting between 275-310 miles out of full tank 23-26 mpg. 85% highway miles every week. dont drive aggresive @ all. check tire pressure , air filter , both good.

know thing rated 30/40 city/hgwy. know numbers farce. 23-26 average seems low car suppose best in class in fuel economy. still under 60 day warranty, should bring dealer have them @ or issue im going have live with???

fyi- getting 30-31 average in scion tc has bigger engine.

Peugeot 106 door stuck open?

agree other contributors door stay/check arm not going in properly. however, having replaced 1 on 106 last tuesday, understand how work. if can contort in door stay goes in door, stay should flat , pass between 2 upright cylindrical rollers. should not able see end of stay, supposed hook behind 1 of rollers inside door itself. if rollers aren't upright, need new door stay assembly (about £25 peugeot). if stay no longer hooked behind rollers, rollers ok, may able put end of stay through. bit fiddly (i had when fitting new 1 car), 1 of rollers spring-loaded , has levered (you can manage shortish flat screwdriver , 3 skinned knuckles!) allow hooked tip of door stay pass through. not recommend "heavy friend" leaning on door, bend stay, or damage door. if end replacing stay assembly, have remove door inner trim panel @ roller bit. can give advice on fitting new 1 if needed, have typist's cramp @ moment(!), post again if need more help. luck. the door opened wide ,...
