Aircraft engines running but not moving?


if engine tested on aircraft @ full power brief period, aircraft have brakes on , wheels in chocks. aircraft moored or tied down anchors longer duration tests reduce brake wear , safety. when tested out of aircraft, engines bolted test stands or test cells well-anchored foundation.

i have seen videos of piston , turbine engines being tested great power either aircraft not move or if engine mounted onto bench top (for example) looks blowing air. why engine not cause bodies accelerate?

Peugeot 106 door stuck open?

agree other contributors door stay/check arm not going in properly. however, having replaced 1 on 106 last tuesday, understand how work. if can contort in door stay goes in door, stay should flat , pass between 2 upright cylindrical rollers. should not able see end of stay, supposed hook behind 1 of rollers inside door itself. if rollers aren't upright, need new door stay assembly (about £25 peugeot). if stay no longer hooked behind rollers, rollers ok, may able put end of stay through. bit fiddly (i had when fitting new 1 car), 1 of rollers spring-loaded , has levered (you can manage shortish flat screwdriver , 3 skinned knuckles!) allow hooked tip of door stay pass through. not recommend "heavy friend" leaning on door, bend stay, or damage door. if end replacing stay assembly, have remove door inner trim panel @ roller bit. can give advice on fitting new 1 if needed, have typist's cramp @ moment(!), post again if need more help. luck. the door opened wide ,...
